Underlying connection was closed

Error message: “The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send.”

Win 10.0.15063, WD MyCloud drive is on the network at 192.168.1.9 and can be viewed from the local computer, the Web interface, and mobile devices.

Tried to install WDSync so I could sync one particular folder. The drive is seen, I can log in, the WDSync installer selects the device and then goes to "Configuring device… " + the spinning wheel. It eventually gives up with the above error message. Repeated 3 times, same results.

What shall I try next? Thank you!

Hi Dan_in_St_Louis ,

May be you should reinstall WD Sync and then try to sync the files or folder.

Thanks!

Alas, same results. I even fetched a fresh copy of the WDSync installer just in case.

The WDSync program sees the drive just fine, even tells me it has 7.1TB free space. But it won’t move beyond “underlying connection was closed.”

Although the WDSync tools menu shows the program version as 1.3.5949.26210, some of the related modules are showing 1.0.5949 – any problem?

Thank you.

Hi Dan_in_St_Louis ,

Maybe you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this.

Thank you, Peter. I opened a support ticket and they have not yet found a solution. They run me around trying ways to make a connection to a drive to which I can already connect for Read/Write, both on my LAN and from an external mobile not logged into my LAN.
