Unable to view files on My Passport Ultra to confirm quality of backup

Have been very disappointed in the customer experience trying a WD My Passport Ultra to replace an older Clickfree that was very user friendly and easy to view files. I was able to find some of the files once, but now cannot. Close to putting the hammer to the hardware containing this very poor software and customer interface!!!

What backup software are you using? If you are using WD Smartware you can view your files without the software just going to the backup folder. The backup folder is called “WDSmarware.swstor” and it is located in the root of the drive.

Also, you don’t have to use the a backup software. You can copy and paste files into the drive manually.

Thanks for the info. I found out I don’t have the WDSmarware.swstor file.
So I downloaded and installed it. Also found WD Quickview would not install
until after I installed the above file, then it would not open. After
running backup again it appeared all the files loaded, but I can only find
photo files. Any further suggestions on how to get the software to function?
