Tv does not detect drive

I have a Western Digital My Passport 1 TB Drive (WDBBEP0010BBK-03) and a Western Digital My Passport Ultra 2 TB Drive (WDBMWV0020BBK-05).  I can connect the 2 TB drive to my Sony TV (KDL-40EX640) with no problems.  However, when I connect the 1 TB drive, the TV does not detect the drive.  Both drives are formatted the same, NTSF.  I ran diagnostics on the 1 TB drive, no errors. I connected the drive to my PC and safely removed it with WD Quick View.  Updated Firmware. Any other suggestions?

Hi,

If the drive is working properly on a PC, there’s not much troubleshooting that you can try other than testing the drive on a different TV to see if it does the same.
