Transfer files from WD 1 TB My Book to 8 TB Seagate Backup Plus Hub

I have a 1 TB WD My Book Elite. It is n 85% full and is currently connected to a USB port on my HP pc running Windows 10. I have been given a new 8 TB Seagate Backup Plus Hub. How can I transfer (move or copy) the data from the smaller WD to the larger Seagate?

Hi,
Depends on how you backed up files to the My Book.

If you just used copy and paste, do the same for the new drive.

If you used software, either WD SmartWare or WD Backup, you can find the folders on the My Book.

Open the My Book drive with Windows Explorer and look for a folder either WD Smartware.swstor or WD Backup.swstor. Open it and work you way down to a folder with History and Volume folders. Your data is in the Volume folder. Just copy and paste back to your computer or new drive.
