I have been experiencing this error for a long time with my WD black sn_750 ssd firmware 111110WD. It is an error that usually appears when I am playing a game. It’s not very common. But it happens to me several times a week. The game crashes and when I go to check the SSD it appears in the explorer but no directory is accessible. I go into the event viewer and it shows that error. I just have to restart the PC and everything is back to normal. I have the latest bios on my motherboard, the latest updated Windows 11. The dashboard application says that the disk is in perfect condition. I have another Samsung NVME SSD and it never gives me that problem. Any solution? I can’t send a help ticket because the page gives me an error. I can’t even try to download software, drivers, etc. The page gives me an error.
Hi @elpanatibu
Have you opened a Support Case? If not opened, for more information, please contact the WD Technical Support team for the best assistance and troubleshooting:
I hadn’t done it because I can’t get in. When I tried to enter or download some software it appears that access is prohibited. and today I just realized that WD has blocked access from my country, I don’t know for what reason. I know because I put a VPN and I was able to get in. Anyway, thanks for answering.
The SN750 is now getting older as new models replaced it. Still it should be OK.
Could be Windows is mangled and needs to be installed fresh
I have actually had this issue for a year and looked it up constantly did you ever solve this?
Yes, by buying an SSD from another brand. But I never buy again WD. My case was not a one-off. Searching on the internet I see a lot of people having the same problem as me. I contacted technical support and the only thing they told me was to enable game mode and if this did not solve the problem, to send them a system log file. Anyway, I got tired of this and bought another SSD from another brand and the problem was over.
Bugger another thing I can’t really replace only reason why I was able to get this one in the first was because I had help
If you’re dealing with frequent crashes on your WD Black SN750 SSD while gaming, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue. Start by running the built-in Windows error checking tool and use the CHKDSK command to check for any file system errors. Ensure your SSD firmware is up to date by visiting the WD website. Also, check your power settings and set your system to high performance, turning off PCI Express link state power management. Look through the Event Viewer for any critical errors that might relate to the crashes, and consider using tools like CrystalDiskInfo to check the SSD’s health. If you’re comfortable with it, reseat the SSD to ensure a proper connection, and try testing it on another computer if you can. Running the Windows Memory Diagnostic can help identify any RAM issues as well. Don’t forget to back up any important data to prevent potential loss. If these steps don’t resolve the problem, you might want to think about a warranty replacement, especially since your other SSD is working fine.

I am an advanced windows user so I know every possible way and means to solve a disk problem if it were a windows problem which it is not. There is nothing you can tell me that I haven’t already done. My problem is not unique, there are many users with the same problem as me with the same nvme model. I’m sure it has to be a firmware problem, but I’m sure WD will never fix this problem again. It makes me sad because it is a new disk. Usually the disk works fine until it starts to get stressed usually in games. The disk is visible but is inaccessible to data. Then I refresh the hardware list in the device manager and the ssd disappears. If I want the disk to appear again I have two ways. I reboot, or I change the nvme driver for any other. (I have tried them all) While I change the driver the disk appears without rebooting. But all the drivers other than the one that windows brings by default, are more unstable and the disk gives me the error more often. My motherboard is a gigabyte x570. It has 3 nvme ports. And the disk behaves worse depending on the slot where I put it. My motherboard is in perfect condition. I have other samsung and crucial nvme disks and they work perfectly.
Sometimes some UEFI components cannot handle some NVMe controllers in common use, there are lots of them which is why you should check for updated firmware for you machine
My machine is up to date in everything.
Keep your machine updated. So far my Lenovo P52 with dual M.2 SSD has had no issues with any SSD stuffed into it.
