I’m very new at this forum.
I’m trying to learn the terminology.
I purchased a My Passport Ultra for my network.
What is the difference between My Passport Ultra and My Cloud?
Also, what is the difference between an external HD and a portable HD?
I have more questions to ask but for now just the meaning of the terms.

A my passport ultra is designed to work connected directly to the computer, while the my cloud is designed to connect to your router and communicate with the computers in your network.
A portable drive is an external drive, however the size makes it portable that’s the reason behind the name.
Ask away and we’ll do the best to answer them.
Hey, thanks for your reply.
After, I inquired, I googled and discovered the answer.
What about external HD’s and portable HD’s?
What’s the difference?
My PassPort Ultra is used as my network cloud.
My network includes 2 desktops, 4 laptops, 3 tablets, and one phone.
Through the router’s USB ports.
All of these devices are linked and can see the Ultra.
I can access all of my files from any device.
Is this a “fluke” for the Ultra?
On the packaging, I read the term “Cloud” many times.
I think I’m good to go for a cloud option.
What do you think?
Have a great day! People!
