Smartware Software Seems Inactive

Just today when I open the software for my Passport Essential 1tb drive it seems not to be active. It doesn’t show backup activity (all is gray) nor does it show any vaolume in the Retrieve. Not sure what is going on. Any ideas would eb welcome/. Thanks.

If WD Smartware is not working properly then you may need to updated I recommend you to uninstall it and restart the computer, after that go to the WD website to update the firmware on the drive and download the latest version of WD Smartware, install it and try it to see if you don’t have that problem anymore.

P.S. If you have windows xp make sure you have Adobe Flash Player and Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 ( or 3.5 SP1 ) installed on your computer before re install the software.-

No, you will not lose your data, re install no fear buddy your backup will not be lost.-
