I purchased wd mycloud a month ago and it hasn’t worked correctly to date. It will download most files, but there are some files that it “hangs” on. About 3 gig of critical information will not back up. It’s not a file type issue, because other files of the same file types back up. I have uninstalled and reinstalled smartware twice. I have reformatted the drive (16 hours). It appears others are having the same problem. Backup shouldn’t be this complicated!!! And yes i have the latest version of smartware (2.4.2). Should I return the product or keep it?
WD SmartWare is independent from your WD My Cloud. If you are on a Windows system you can use Windows backup as an alternative since it will be able to create entire system images. For more information please visit the following link:
