I have a My Book Essential 1GB running WD Smartware 1.5.1.6 on a Toshiba laptop running Win 7 Home Premium w/ SP1 and all available updates and patches installed. I’ve gone through this iteration several times. I can backup my machine successfulyy one time. The next time I mount the My Book drive and launch Smartware, backup won’t tun and the grapgics for my hard drive and the my Book which should show the stacked bar graphs of content show nothing. I do get the summary info of total and free space for each drive.
On the Backup tab, the status at the top says “Ready to perform backup” but there is still no drive content info or activity about backup, even though there is a Stop Backup button. If I remove the software and re-install it will work once but the next time I go to backup, I get the same thing. Scfreen shots attached.
