Smartware deleted on mac: issue?

Hi all,

I have bought My Passport essential 500Go and plugged it to my macbook. Time Machine switched on immediately but told me I had to erase what was on the external HD in order to copy files. I clicked on erase and the Smartware has apparently been deleted. Is it an issue since i’m using TIme Machine?

Can you please tell me how you managed to do this? I’m dying to get rid of it and I can’t! 

It’s really annoying to have this CD image here, even if I don’t have the Smartware installed.

Is there a way to remove this?
