Hi, I got a MyBook 4 TB external hard drive. Do I have to disconnect the hard drive from the power source after I finish working and turn off Windows? This device model does not have an on/off button

Does your device have a dashboard? Do you see a USB icon? See example image below.
My suggestion is, if you see this icon click on the dropdown icon and see what it says and/or read any Help information that is provided or a User Manual.
My question is, should I unplug the MyBook external hard drive adapter after shutting down Windows or not?
Ask this in the Knowledge Base, How to shutdown a My Book? Look at the User Manual.
You don’t need to disconnect the power supply from your My Book. Ejecting the USB cable from your PC ( Safely Remove ), or simply turning off your PC will power down the drive. Also, if your question is do you need to unplug the USB cable after you power down your PC, the answer is generally no, but sometimes external drives can get a little hincky when plugged in during boot.
