Sharing Setting Reset on Reboot

I have windows xp and have had several usb external drives connected to it for the last 2 years without any issues.

All are shared so i can access them across the network.

I recently purchased a new drive as one of the others was failing, the new drive is a WD Elements 3TB External Desktop Hard Drive USB 2.0.

Since i have added this drive and shared it every time i reboot the sharing settings are lost on the new drive and the existing drives.

I have disconnected the new WD drive and confirmed that without it the sharing settings on the existing drives are not reset.

Please can someone help me resolve this issue?

Hello,

The WD Elements drive is not designed to work over the network. I have never tried this myself but hopefully another user can help with this.
