Scan disk U3 won't run on XP

Hi

When I plug my U3 into my PC running XP auto run does not work. When I open up the drive there are 3 icons autorun set up, launchPad and Launch U£. When i click on Launch U3, C:\Documents and Settings\Chris\Application Data\U3\431722160C40DA62 opens but there is nothing in it?

Any advice on how to gain access please, as it has worked before on this PC?

Ok, not a big problem.

Ok.  Normal.  Actually autorun.inf, Launchpad.zip and LaunchU3.exe.

Now that makes no sense at all.  If the device is password protected you should see a U3 window to enter the Password.  If the device is not password protected you should see the U3 Launchpad icon in the Taskbar.  How/why you’re seeing the Application Data\U3 folder I have no idea.

BTW If the drive is not password protected you don’t need to click on the LaunchU3 app at all.  Simply look for the other Removable Disk in Windows Explorer and dlb click on it to see your data files.

Hi SH, have you tried connecting this onto other PC yet to isolate the issue?

tried on windows 7, 64 and scandisk starts to inialize with the light flashing but goes no further?

any advice most welcome

Set LaunchU3.exe to run in Compatibility mode, Vista SP2.

Reboot, reset the Compatibility mode if necessary.

I’ve had this happen also on occasion with my Win 7 64-bit system.  I think a Windows update is causing a conflict someplace.
