Sandisk Sansa Clip 4GB stuck on "connected"

Hello.

I have a problem with my Sandisk Sansa Clip MP3 player. After charging the battery and unplugging, it now keeps saying “Connected” even though it’s not connected. I can’t access the player’s menu. Trying to reset the player by pulling up and holding the power slider doesn’t seem to work. What should I do?
