SanDisk Portable SSD Won't Eject

I’ve had my SanDisk Portable SSD for about a year. For the past few months, I’ve had a really annoying problem every time I try to safely remove the drive.

When I try to eject my SanDisk Portable SSD on Windows, I always get this error:

“This device is currently in use. Close any programs or windows that might be using the device, and then try again.”

But I don’t have any programs using the drive. I close everything, but the error still shows up.

Try this one.

  1. Use the system’s built-in Disk Management tool to force the release of the volume,
  2. Then safely eject the device in Safe Mode.
Usually, the first step is sufficient.

This is a common issue. You can check out this link for a solution.
