SanDisk 16 GB will not pull up pictures

I have LOTS of pictures stored on my SanDisk Ultra 16 GM card and it was working fine until just recently.  I have been using the card in a couple of photo frames, and when I put it back in my camera to take more pictures, it will not pull anything up.  I tried it in my laptop this morning, and the SD card option has been replace with “X” so I cannot pull it up.  Any suggestions?  Have I lost everything?  Thanks for your help!
