Recently my (E:) 2TB SATA Hard Drive on my computer failed. It was used only for storage of videos and photos and was backed up on my 5TB My Book. I also have a conventional (C:) drive and another 1TB (D:) drive that I use for business. I uninstalled the 2TB SATA (E:) (so that I could continue to use my computer without conflicts). I used this issue as an opportunity to buy a new computer with 2TB SSD, plus (2) 2TB each SATA. I now want to use My Book to restore all my key files including the files from my failed (E:) onto the new computer. However, I unclear as to the best way of accomplishing this task. I want to make sure that I get everything that was on (E:) plus all my files from (C:) and (D:), emails, favorites, contacts, calendar; you get the idea.
Hi TLongo,
You can manually transfer the data (Copy & Paste) from the my book to the new computer or if you have created the backup then you can use the same software to restore the backup to your new computer.
