I am sure this is discussed somewhere on here but I can’t find it. I backedup my old computer to My WD Passport. I then plugged the passport into my new computer and loaded the WD programs. The first time I did this there was no problem, all the backup was on the passport and I could restore files. Then I updated the software and now WD Backup says there are no files to restore because I haven’t scheduled a back up, etc.
I can go into the drive using Windows Explore and copy files but this is not enough because many of my files have the same name but were identified by the directory the were stored in. Ex. Title Doc in Jones directory v/v Title Doc in Smith directory. Going in with Windows doesn’t show which directory the files came from so I have no way of know which is which.
How do I get the WD software to recognize the backup on the drive?
Thanks JH
