repair files after removing cruzer edge USB from computer during use

I have a SanDisk Cruzer Edge 16 GB.  I tried to placce files on a MAC, but I accidently removed the Cruzer while it was in use.  I ran ParetoLogic data recovery, but some of the PDF and CHM files still do not work.  

I am looking for a way to repair the files damaged when I took the USB out of the port while it was in use.

The PDF files show this error “Adobe Reader could not open ‘name_of_file.pdf’ because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for exampke, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn’t correctly decoded).”

The CHM files have the following message: 'Cannot open the file mk:@MSITStoreC:\Users.…chm."

Is there a way to recover and REPAIR these files?  I have tried ParetoLogic data recovery, and it recovered but did not repair all of the files.

unfortunately you are probably out of luck. do you not still ahve the files on the computer you copied them from?

No, they were copied from another USB drive from someone who lives a 4 hour drive away.  Thanks for your help.

  I used 2 different recovery software, and I found that they were able to recover different usable files.  Is there a free recovery software that you have had the best luck with?

You should consider:

And make sure you click the correct Download button.  Some ads on download pages try to confuse people.

Hi, 

I am browsing the scan disk recovery from your website. My situation is that I placed ther computer to slep and pulled my USB accidentally since I need it on my other computer, Will the the recovery link from using the USB also applies to it, since it has so muc data on it, I have never got the chance to have a back up?

They all should.  And since they are free to use if one doesn’t work try anther one.
