Reformatting My Passport 2TB to PC or both PC/Mac

I bought a 2TB My Passport (not originally formatted for Mac) that I have been using to back up Time Machine on my iMac. I need to use it to back up my Dell laptop as well but it doesn’t show up when I connect it. Is there a way to do one of the following two things (preferably the first):

1-(re)format it so that it is compatible with the PC as well as with the iMac

2-(re)format it so that it is just compatible with the PC

Any wisdom and guidance would be greatly appreciated. :slight_smile:

If you reformat to NTFS there are some utilities for Mac that will make the drive usable  check this link http://community.wdc.com/t5/WD-Portable-Drives/unwritable-drive/td-p/435872 see post 6
