Good morning! I have a My Book 1230 4 TB USB drive that I have been using with Windows 7 for the last 2 years with no problems. I used WD Macrium Reflect to save an image of my Windows drive onto the WD My Book USB drive. Last week, I upgraded to Windows 10 and I was trying to re-format My Book to get rid of everything from Windows 7 and start backing up the Windows 10 environment. I downloaded the new Drive Utilities from WD and received “there has been an error erasing your drive” when I tried to re-format the drive. I then ran the Quick Drive tests, which it passed, so overnight I ran the Complete Drive Tests, which was still at 90% and not moving after 7 hours, so I cancelled the test. I then uninstalled the WD Security application and turned off Windows Defender, I then ran the WD Quick Drive Format and received the error “WD external drive format failed.” Please help. Thank you in advance!
