I just purchased a 500GB passport. My mac recognizes it, but I cannot add anything to it. Under the Sharing and Permissions tab it says, “You can only read”. How can I change this?
If this drive was formatted for Windows it will be read only on a Mac. See post 6 in this thread http://community.wdc.com/t5/WD-Portable-Drives/unwritable-drive/td-p/435872
