Raid configuration error message

I am getting a “Raid configuration issues” message. I have done a quick test drive and my 1TB passport ultra passes that. However, when I try to run a complete test drive, it fails after 10%. Can anyone tell me what the problem might be? Thanks in advance

A WD Passport Ultra should not provide a RAID configuration error considering it is not a RAID unit. I’d recommend testing the hard drive using a different diagnostics application.

I don’t have a fix, but wanted to describe the problem in more detail. I am running Mac OS X (10.10.5 Yosemite). Following are the contents of the error dialog box that pops up:

“Error in RAID Configuration
Your device My Passport Ultra (S/N: xxxx) has RAID Configuration issues.
Please launch the WD Drive Utilities software to get more information.”

It appears this dialog box is coming from the Mac OS Finder, not from a utility. There are 2 buttons, “Run WD Drive Utilities” and “OK”. Both buttons seem to do the same thing, simply closing the dialog box, at least temporarily. It will usually reappear instantly upon dismissing the dialog, for several iterations, then stop. The dialog typically reappears after a few or several minutes. Opening and running the WD Drive Utilities from the Finder doesn’t show any info on a RAID configuration or error.

My WD drive has 2 Mac OS partitions which were not configured as RAID. The error is not fatal in that once the error dialog box is dismissed, the drive seems to function normally. But the error recurs quite frequently, making the drive a pain to use.
