I have a problem. I want to change the password on my edit security. It calls for my current password, but I have no idea what it is. I have window 7 and I use the WD My Passport Ultra. Is there something I can do? Thank you.
HI Carole,
You need to run WD Security.
Go to Windows Start and find WD Discovery under Western Digital. Select WD Drive Utilities. Select the Drive Erase option. Read carefully. You will lose all content on the Drive. This Erase is required to change the Password.
Now go to Western Digital again and this time select WD Security. Follow the instructions and define a Password hint. Anything that helps you remember the Password because you don’t want to have do this procedure again.
If you are the only user of the drive, then consider not making a password.
