Passport will not show up as device

  My computer with Windows 7 had some problems and a new hard drive was installed.  Now, h.However, when I plug in my Passport there are no icons to show that it is plugged in.  I have windows 7.  Same problem with my laptop running XP.  (plugged in now and no light on the device.

What is the solution?

Check under Disk Management. (Right click Computer>Manage>Disk Management), if is showing you might be able

to format.

Check the USB cable, also test the drive using a different computer a desktop if possible.
