Just to say that I’ve just bought a My Passport 500GB drive that came with a 2.011 firmare, newer than the last one available on WD support site.
The part number is wdbaaa5000abk-00
There is no Virtual CD on this drive, which is great
Also, the Virtual CD manager app does not detect this drive.
The one partition has a size of 465GiB, 500GB, 500078473216 bytes
The smartware installer and SES driver were on the root of the partition.
The first thing I did was to re-partition and format the drive, so I may have done something that removed the VCD, but I don’t think so, as it seems impossible to the people who tried.
Have other people also see this?
