I just got a 4TB My Passport external drive and reformatted it to use on my Mac. There seems to be no LED indicator light even though the WD Discovery app has a setting to turn the LED on/off. (I have it set to ON.) Does this drive not have an LED, or does my unit have a problem?
Update: I discovered the LED is on the back of the unit, instead of the front, and does work. It’s an odd design to put the LED in the back next to the cable port, where it’s not going to be readily visible, but then again the entire case design is odd. (I certainly didn’t buy this drive for its looks.)
well that’s good because there is no LED on mine. How can it not have an LED light. Also no specific manual for it. All the Manuals I see show a different picture and mention LED light, has Apps, an the other features it says it is suppose to have on the package. Mine says check back later for apps? Also the install did not work (from 2021, were are in September now 2022) and sent me Online where I downloaded it, but where are all the features? This is My Passport model WDBYVG0020BBK-WESN. I bought it in Best Buy. is it a knock off?
