No Bootable Device Error on Acer SF314-54 with WD Blue SA510

Hello,

I’m having a recurring issue with my Acer SF314-54 laptop equipped with a WD Blue SA510 SSD that I installed recently.

Issue:
The laptop boots and works fine initially. After using it and leaving it idle for about 20-25 minutes (this is an average, could be more or less), a blue screen appears briefly and then the system restarts and shows a black screen with the “No bootable device found” error. To use the laptop again, I must manually restart it.

What I’ve tried:

  • Updated BIOS to latest version (1.18).
  • Applied all Windows and driver updates.
  • Used SanDisk Dashboard to check SSD health and confirm firmware is up to date.
  • Verified and reseated the SSD physically to ensure a solid connection.

Also, the SSD is brand new. What could be causing this issue?

Thanks!

I’ll open a Support Case. I thought this was the right place to ask technical questions, thank you.

One more problem with WD Blue SA510 SSD. Most of these problems are hardware-related, and the solution I can think of is probably to back up the data. Replace it if necessary.
