New My Passport - plugged into Mac and nothing

I have been sent a replacement My Passport for MAC with the a USB 3 cable instead of the USB 2 cable… I have finally been sent the a compatible cable for the replaced unit and have plugged into my machine and well nothing…

The function light is on but the drive does not appear on my desktop or under devices in Finder, it is not making any noises either e.g. the disk is not spinning. I have already installed the WD software and not sure what to do next? I can’t eject it and don’t want to try just unplugging it, to plug it back in because I don’t want to screw up the unit.

If anyone knows or has any suggestions please let me know?

Have you check on disk utility? 

As a recommendation, try testing the unit on a different computer. Unplugging the drive without ejecting it is not recommended. However, if the drive is not showing, for troubleshooting steps, you might need to do that.
