New 1TB Passport Ultra will not Backup

Once the Ultra was installed I attempted to configure a Backup. Was unable to do so. Received the following “error” message: "Expecting element ‘root’ from Namespace, Encountered ‘none’ with name “Namespace”

Desperately need assistance in getting the Passport Ultra working. Gabe10367.

Which WD Backup software did you used to create the backup?

Now listen carefully: I want you to send me a UPS label so that I can return this non functioning Passport Ultra to WD. NEXT I wan t every last dollar that I paid WD for this unit and the shipping returned to me through Pay Pal. Do you understand that., I am waiting.

I have this same problem. Two different WD Techs have failed at troubleshooting it. They say microsoft can help, that the problem is in Windows. Let me hold my breath while MS helps me troubleshoot registry changes from a 3rd party software…
