New 1 TB

hi, today i bought brand new 1 TB external hard disk. But when i connected it to my pc it shows 930GB free of 931 GB.

  1. why its 931 GB instead of 1 TB?

  2. some data is on hard drive, so what i have to do with this data? can i delete it after installing drivers? or what?

  3. when i connctes it to pc, pc show message that installing drivers…then it ask me to search driver on internet, i press OK. it keep on searching for a long time but was on and on … so i canel it…

then it shows some drivers r not installed? what to do now?

any other info to share???

  1.  931 Gibibytes = 1 Terabyte.

It’s a different unit.   Your PC is reporting Gibibytes.   WD measures capacity is Terabytes.

  1.  What model HD do you have?

  2.  I suspect you’re in the wrong forum.  This forum is about the MyBook Live Duo NAS.  If your PC installed drivers, and you connected the HD directly to your PC, you probably have a USB External HD.  The forums for those are here:
