Bought this external hard drive because I needed something to store some of my files and pictures on while I formatted my internal hard drive in a last attempt to remove some drivers that were causing issues. The drivers and other issues are gone now, but I cannot seem to gain access to the things I had stored previous to the internal drive being wiped. I’m unsure if maybe I just bought the wrong kind of drive, or if I’m doing something wrong. I have installed the SmartWare/ quickview software and when I go into the Retrieve tab, this is what I see. I know the files are still on there because I can see them under additional files here . Just need to know I guess if there is any way to get them back or if I just messed up and bought the wrong type of storage, which honestly isn’t too big a loss.
Wow, think I got it. Just had to click a few times and explore through the folders in the drive. I don’t know how to delete a post, so I guess I’ll just leave it at that.
Hello, glad to read that you were able to solve the issue, you are correct when the smartware is unable to see the backups, just by going through the folder structure you’ll gain access to your drive.
