I just bought a MyPassport 750G external drive only to discover that the USB cable that comes with it is NOT standard??. This means that if I ever lose or damage this cable i must contact WD for replacement rather than use one of the many cables I have from other purchases !!! … who made that decision !!

I just pulled four USB cables out of my junk drawer; they all worked just fine…
