My USB port broke, and I’m wondering if I can use the hard drive as an internal hard drive? I know the data is encrypted, but can I erase the hard drive and use it? If so, could I also put it in another case and use it?
It will depend, in some of the newest models the USB port is built-in the drive, so it will not be possible to install it as an internal. If your drive is under warranty you may contact WD for a replacement.
