I tried to connect my Passport to my smart tv to record something. Doesn’t work. After that, any PC or OS doesn’t recognize my external hdd. In Disk management, the corresponding option “Change the drive letter and paths…” is greyed. But the device is visible in Devices and Printers or in Safely remove hardware. Please help.

If the drive is seen in disk management then you will need to format it.
How to partition and format a WD drive on Windows (8, 7, Vista, XP) and Mac OSX
Please note that formatting the drive will delete everything on it.
