My Passport Wireless 2TB

I have recently purchased a My Passport Wireless 2TB. With two firmware updates, the copy feature of SD card to the drive seems stable now. However, it does not work properly. I was trying to copy a 32 GB (80% full) card having all RAW files using my andriod mobile app. After sometime I found an error on the screen. When I opened the copy folder using USB, I checked that half of my files are copied  properly and rest with 0 KB files. I am not sure what is the problem, what is the way to troubleshoot! For me it is a very important device but if it does not work the way it should be then it puts me a risk of losing my photoes. Can anyone help me please as how to sort this issue? Thanks in advance.

It does work properly for me, although it hasn’t been used an awful lot yet. I did a lot of test copies though, and with the latest firmware it worked fine. Well, so far. I just loaded up a couple of SD cards, then inserted them and pressed the WiFI button to start the copy. Waited for all activity to stop, including letting the drive spin down, then ejected the card and inserted the next card. Repeat. No special tests.

Do some tests with it powered by the power supply, and if that works fine, test it on battery power.

If either test doesn’t work, contact WD Support for assistance.

This is what I got today. This is totally unstable!!! None of my copies ended successfully.

I am not sure if my unit is defective or the entire product is like that!

Created a ticket, lets see if they care!

I am frustrated.

Sounds like you got a bad drive.
