I bought a My Passport from here and when I plugged it in it said that I needed to format it to use it. Tried to format it- didn’t work. So I went to disk manager and deleted the volume and tried to format again- it failed. Now the drive is unrecognized. It keeps disappearing and reappearing from the device manager. It shows up in disk manager as a raw drive but it makes the window hang and is unclickable. What do I do to make the drive work?
Hello, it is possible that the Passport is not getting enough energy to work correctly, be sure to use the USB cable that came bundled with the Passport and avoid using USB extension cables or USB hubs. You can also try connecting the Passport to another PC to verify if the same problem keeps happening.
