My Passport for Mac 500GB WDBAAB5000ACH is this obsolete?

Hi,

Not sure when this was purchsed but there doesn’t seem to be any support for this drive. I’m running Mac OS 10.10.1 and during the install the status bar is completely blue and the text below states, Estimated time remaining but absolutly noothing happens after that it sits there - for an hour while I had dinner. I assumed it installed but it didn’t.

Is this now an outdated unsupported drive that I should replace?

Hi there and welcome to the WD community.

If you check on Disk Utility does the drive show up there? Also try different USB ports to make sure if it does appear on the computer connected to a different port.
