My passport external drive is nt working

Hi,

I purchased My Passport 1 TB external hard drive around 9 months ago. It was working fine for four months and suddenly stopped working. When I connected to my laptop it is detecting as another CD-ROM drive but not an external device. When I tired to open the CD-ROM I am getting an error message like “external device is not detected”. In Device manger also it is detecting as another CD-ROM.

I copied all my important data into the drive and I am not able to get it back.

Try going to the disk manager to see if it is detected there.
