I tried to connect my passport essential drive on my pc running windows 7 sp1 via usb3 port, but i encounter continuous connections/ disconnections.
How can I correct this?

What happens when you try on a 2.0 port? If the same issue persists most likely its the data cable. Explain thoroughly your setup. Are you using a USB Hub? Is this a desktop or a laptop?
