I am naive about external hard drives. Each time I back up does it add onto the previous back up? I am particularly interested in my pictures . I want to back up onto the hard drive and then be able to delete from my computer every so often. Is that what is happening? Thank you

Do you have a My Passport Wireless or do you have a regular My Passport? How are you doing the backup? What software?

I have the regular(cable connected) My Passport 1TB. I don’t recall about the software. I am assuming since it came with none that I downloaded it from their site.
To do the backup, I open the icon on my desktop and click on WD Smartware and the backup tab.
