My Passport 1Gb drive fails?

Hey,

I have my drive for almost  a year now. 

It’s usually connected to my streamer.  I have noticed that it takes a lot of time to access files in the last couple of days. In the last couple of hours I can’t access the files at all.

I have connected the drive to my laptop and ran SMART check which passed.

I continued to run a quick test, but it failed after 30%.

The full media scan couldn’t even start - it fails after a few seconds on 0%.

I bought the drive while I was in the US, but I’m currently leaving i Israel.

Is there anything I can do to rescue the drive and/or media on it?

Hello,

You can try formatting it or writing zeros but this will delete all data stored in it. If you need to recover the data then you should try a data recovery software.
