Hi My Passport Ultra Backup 1TB WDBGPU0010BBK was working perfectly till last month
suddenly , it started to be a bit slow in everything , then the device couldnot discover any folder size before moving or deleting it , so no operation could be done , I tried its smartware but it couldnot complete any drive test , i used western lifegaurd , the same problem , another week , i can`t even open the partition to see my files
what is the problem ? how can i fix it?

Have you tried to change the USB cable? Also, you should try to format the drive if you have the backup of the data and check if the issue still persist.
NOTE: Formatting is data destructive and cannot be undone.
I had the same problem with my My Passport Ultra 3Tb after the latest firmware update. I had to RMA it. Then I was prompted to update WD Discovery which I did. Upon receiving the replacement drive, it keeps unmounting itself. I ran the WD Utilities on it and the Quick Drive Test failed. I haven’t been able to write more that three files to it at a time.
There is obviously something troubling with the My Passport Ultras and the firmware, which needs significant troubleshooting, but these little bricks are end-of-line, so I doubt they will do anything but continually RMAing them until their warranties expire.
I would not recommend using these things for anything important.
