Brand new 3 tb My Book does not have WD Discovery.exe when looking at drive. Has Backup, security, etc. but when clicking on them all it wants to do is Uninstall the software. Have opened a case but waiting for reply. Last three devices (not all WD) have had immediate problems while installing. Getting tired of it. What ever happened to QC departments?

If your drive is supported by the software, you can download that from the WD Support site.
My drive is on the list. I did download it to my laptop. I guess I can drag and drop it on the drive. After fumbling around a bit I got to a screen that let me update the backup.exe and I think I backed up the laptop, which is the smallest of the three computers I plan on backing up (two Win 10 and an iMac). I only think I did it because the available space went down. I haven’t figured out how to see the details of the data on the drive.
