Hi community,
The other day, my MyBook Studio edition II stopped working. I have never had a problem with it before but suddenly it no longer showed up in my explorer. It does not appear in disk management but it does show up in device manager. Whenever I turn it off and on or when I plug it in, it makes a clicking soft clicking noise for a bit with the front LED all on and then it eventually ends up with the top and bottom LED flashing simulatneously.
I am running windows 7. I have tried plugging it into another computer and it ends up the same way. I can safely eject with from the usb manager. I have tried using testdrive but it only shows my c drive.
After about a day of it not working, it suddenly started working again, abeit it took longer to start up than before. I was able to access all my files, so I thought the problem was gone for now, but just a day after it started working again, my files are no longer accessible. I could see it in explorer and see my folders in the drive but the folder are all empty. After unplugging it, it no longer mounts up properly and the LEDs are blinking again.
I have perused the forums and haven’t found a similar story, can anyone help.
