I have a My Book Live Duo drive with 2 3TB drives set to mirror one another (RAID 1). Apparently both drives have failed at the same time (I can’t access them at all). Not sure how both drives failed (I though the RAID config would prevent that!). The drive contains 2 WD Caviar Green drives. I was thinking of just replacing the drives and starting over, but I see WD does not sell the Green drives anymore. My question is, can I use different drives in this device (i.e., red drives), and if so, which drive type would work best (red, blue, black, purple, etc.)? I did not want to by new drives and then find out they won’t work with the Live Duo.
