I have a WD My Book 1.5tb USB 2.0. I backed up my part of my computer to it in 2014 and got it out to copy pictures onto it. When I drag and drop, a screen says Windows is shutting down, my computer shuts down and restarts.

Are there any driver updates for this External Drive? I have Windows 7.

Are you getting same issues on another computer?

You can try to check updates of My Book using WD Universal Firmware Updater.

I only use it on this equipment. I will try the universal firmware.
