I’ve been considering turning my external 7TB My Book hard drive into an NTFS drive so I can install a wider variety of programs on it (as some programs do strictly require NTFS, else they simply would not install). Is it possible to convert my hard drive into that format without reformatting? Has anyone done it via Convert.exe? If so, has everything been going well?
My last external HDD started failing after I converted it, albeit it was from a less reliable company. Are there any downsides to converting to NTFS without reformatting the drive? I want to be absolutely sure that I can convert my drive without losing data or bricking it incidentally.
Thanks,
