My Book Fails to Power Up

My Book fails to power up and so I think I ned a new card reference WD-4050-705001-AD M2. does anyone know where i can get one of these from?

What about using this drive internally plugged in to my PC? Will I be able to read the disc or do I need any software from WD?

First, check whether the hard drive is getting enough power or not. You can do it by plugging the power adapter directly into the power supply. Secondly, try replacing the data cable with the new one and check if that works.

If none of the above works then try the below options:

  • Run CHKDSK
  • Use an Antivirus & Anti-Malware tool
  • Re-install the device drivers
