Hello,

I have one My Book Essential 1 TB (USB 3.0).

Every time we start the computer, the external drive starts alone.

Is it possible to remove this feature?

Because I want only power on the drive when I need it.

Nope, just disconnect the drive from the computer and connect when you want to use it.

The power switch only works if the Smartware is installed. You can just unplug the power and leave the USB connected. I have 2 in a power strip and only turn them on when I actually use them.
